The map above shows 5 locations of oil spill in Alberta. It includes the facts, effects, and information. This report will be about the threat to the water systems due to the oil spill. What is oil and how are they dangerous?
Uses: Oil is used to fuel vehicles, heat buildings, make plastic, medicine, ink, fertilizer, paint, varnish and electricity. Oil and its characteristics:
As you can see from the picture above, there are many different types of oil and it shows how dangerous oil can be. Today, I will list down some effects that can be caused from oil spill.

This graph shows the greenhouse emissions by province and territory, Canada in 1990, 2005, and 2017. I found this interesting because emissions vary significantly by province because of factors like population, energy sources, and economic base. In Alberta, the emissions is the highest because of the extraction of oil as well as the cow farm. However, for Ontario and Quebec, the emissions were lower than that of 1990 which I find very interesting.Christmas is a Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus. Today, many people celebrates Christmas from all around the world. Many countries have many different ways of celebrating the Christmas holiday. The picture above is one of the many Christmas celebrations. It is called the Giant Lantern Festival from Philippines. The Christmas lantern--also known as parul sampernandu is what the City of Fernando is known best for. The name 'parol' comes from Spanish and it means lantern or light. In the year 1931, electricity was established in San Fernando and the Giant Lantern Festival was formed. This festival is held every December and it was because of the parul sampernandu that San Fernando has earned the title of "Christmas Capital of the Philiphines."
As you all know, we use plastic in our everyday life. However, how much of those plastic effects the environment negatively? Today, I'll be writing about plastic and the effects it has on the water. Humans are destroying the environment, we know that for a fact. Let's take water for example. Thousands of years ago, water has always been clean and there had never been a time where sea wildlife are intoxicated by the toxins from the garbage. The animals from the sea can come to an extinct because of the plastics and garbage that we make. Not only does it effects the environment, it also effects us as humans as we are eating the fishes that have eaten the toxins. Amongst the plastic that has been thrown into the ocean, 20% of the trash have come from the ship and platforms that are offshore. When the plastics are thrown into the ocean, it becomes tiny pieces that can be consumed by fish and sea wildlife. Being consumed, at least 100,000 sea turtles die from entanglement and ingestion. When the plastics are released into the ocean, chemicals are also released to both the water and the atmosphere. This is our problem, and it is not right to destroy the environment as well as killing the wildlife. It is our responsibility to help clean up the trash that has been thrown into the water, and it is our responsibility to help the wildlife. We can help by putting garbage in the right garbage bins instead of throwing them into the water and the environment.
My thoughts on modern urban planning is quite good because it can help to achieve sustainable development. Urban design that encourage higher density of buildings and public spaces can save lands, energy , and economic costs; which I think is better than the ancient way.
Climate change is happening right now, and there is even a scientific proof. However, there is one specific topic that have contributed to climate change. That topic is greenhouses gas. What is greenhouses gas?
Definition: Greenhouse gases is a layer of gas that surrounds earth and causes the planet's atmosphere to heat up. Greenhouse gases causes the global warming as it warms up the Earth's atmosphere. Through the sun's heat, it is trapped within the atmosphere which can cause heat waves, and even the melting of the glaciers. It is bad because with the melting glaciers, not only the species that needs the glaciers will go extinct, the sea level will also rise. With the rise of the sea level, many cities near the sea can have flood which can kill thousands if not millions. Currently, the sea level have already risen 95 mm. We can slow down the climate change by changing the way we live. As an example, maybe instead of using hydro for electricity we can use solar panels instead. When I grow older, I can contribute by using solar panels, and informing people abou climate change. Public transit is also known as public transportation. Just like its name, it is used for the public to help them get to their destinations. Some examples of a public transits are: Buses, Trains, Subways, and Streetcar. The picture above is an example of a bus. Some advantages of ridding a public transportation is being able to promote clean air by reducing our automobile use. Public transits creates less noise, pollution, and lowers parking demands. By ridding a bus, we can avoid the costs of parking. If people were to take buses, there would be fewer cars, which means less traffic. Less traffic can reduce stress, get to your destination quicker, less road rage, and maybe even reduce less accidents. Public transits is very important because not only does it help people get to their destinations, it also helps people interacts with another.
This is an interaction map of St. Augustine and it shows different places around the school. There is four different green point and in each, there will be a certain picture that shows how that place looks. The four pictures will show you the front of the school, the parking lot, the portables, and the playground.
